Dr. Heitman is Professor of Medicine and Head of the Division of Gastroenterology and Hepatology in Calgary. He is an advanced endoscopist and a health services researcher with specialized training in health economics.
Dr. Heitman’s research is focused in the areas of colorectal cancer screening and the quality and outcomes of screening-related colonoscopy and polypectomy. Dr. Heitman is also actively involved in endoscopy education and regularly participates as faculty at colonoscopy upskilling courses across Canada.
