Dr. Leung attended medical school at the University of Calgary followed by a residency at the University of British Columbia, a Gastroenterology Fellowship at the University of Calgary and an Advanced IBD Fellowship at the University of Chicago. She is also an Assistant Clinical Professor at the University of Calgary and an Associate Clinical Professor, Division of Gastroenterology in the Department of Medicine at UBC. A gastroenterologist at The IBD Centre of BC since 2016, Dr. Leung has been researching pregnancy and IBD for more than a decade with a special focus on the effects of biologics on pregnancy. She is the founder of The IBD Pregnancy Clinic & Registry.
