Dr. Chahal is a Hepatologist and Liver Transplant Physician at VGH. After completing his medical school, internal medicine residency, and gastroenterology fellowship at the University of British Columbia, he went on to receive training at the Mount Sinai Hospital in New York City. During his training, Dr. Chahal was a recipient of the UBC Friedman Award for Scholars in Health and the Canadian Association for the Study of the Liver (CASL)-Canadian Liver Foundation (CLF) Clinical Fellowship Award. More recently Dr. Chahal has been the recipient of awards and grants from VCHRI, Michael Smith Foundation for Health Research, and CIHR.
